August Mother
August Mother is a world premiere play written by Eric Domuret, Associate Professor of Drama at the University of St. Thomas, and presented by Stoic Theatre. Set amidst the shifting tides of the Roman Empire in 4th-century North Africa, the play tells the story of St. Monica, one of the Catholic Church’s most beloved mothers. It follows her struggle to maintain her faith in a troubled household while longing for her wayward son to return. Together, they embark on a journey to discover the true meaning of "home."
